Unfortunately, patients sometimes suffer extensive damage to their teeth due to oral disease or injury. In some of these cases, it may be possible to save the tooth using a large restoration like a dental crown. In others, it may be necessary to extract the tooth and replace it using a dental bridge.
Crowns are the more conservative of these two treatments. These tooth-shaped caps slide atop biological teeth to protect a tooth that is decayed, cracked or otherwise damaged. Crowns can be made of materials like porcelain, ceramics or resins, all of which have a lifelike appearance. A porcelain crown may also contain some metal so that it is stronger. Our practice offers same-day E4D crowns for maximum patient convenience.
